Brooklyn auction bank

Programmatic Hybridization between Bank and Auction
Location : Fulton Mall, Brooklyn, New York

For a long time, the typical image of bank was a secretive space where public save their properties and money to hide from the danger. Recent “great recession” as a critical moment in the transformation of the banking industry will result significant changes in bank not only systematically, but also architecturally. Their mirror image of lobbies set up as retail stores, facing continued anger and deep distrust, new opportunities for alternative banking systems and spaces are emerging.

The Auction Bank is designed in this context : the social network aspect referring to both banks’ ability to harness the new possibilities of community building, transparency and exchange offered by social environment. The bank will vitalize nearby communities by connecting bank and auction, pubic and local artist to create mutual supplementation network.
